President Mahama has reiterated his commitment to fulfill every single promise he made to the people of the Volta region in the 2012 campaign period before his tenure ends. The President made this known when he cut the sod for the construction of a new Metro Mass transit terminal at Aflao as part of his two day working visit to the region. The project which is estimated at 900, 000 Ghana cedis is expected to carry commuters from Aflao to Togo and vice versa. Speaking at the ceremony, President Mahama said his government will not renege on promises he made to the Chiefs and people of the region in 2012. On his part, Togbuiga Amenyafiti V, Chief of Aflao said he will deliver a 100, 000 votes in the 2016 elections for the NDC. According to him, his promise fell short by 20,000 votes in 2012 but promised that the NDC will poll 100,000 votes in 2016.
