Black Stars Get Tight Security In Cairo Ahead of Egypt Clash

The Black Stars are being accorded full protection by Egyptian security forces since their arrival in Cairo in the early hours of Monday. The Ghana team breezed into the Egyptian capital a day to their return leg match of the 2014 World Cup playoff against the Pharaohs at the Air Defence Stadium. Security was very tight at the team�s arrival � with the players being quickly whisked away is under heavy security protection. The team�s bus is sandwiched between trucks with a pile load of a joint police and military forces. The road leading to the Black Stars hotel in Cairo is also full of visible police presence. These intense security arrangements were part of the pledges made by the Egyptian authorities to ensure absolute safety for the Ghanaian delegation during their time in Cairo. Ghana had expressed security concerns over playing the game in Egypt due to political and civil unrest. The Egyptian authorities however convinced FIFA into allowing them host the Black Stars at their own backyard with a thorough security plan for the entire Ghanaian delegation. The Ghana team will hold one training session at the match�s venue � Air Defence Stadium � before facing the Pharaohs on Tuesday. The Black Stars carry a commanding 6-1 advantage going into the second-leg clash.
