Kwesi Nyantakyi Goes Unopposed For WAFU Post

After getting the GFA seat unopposed, another unopposed contest awaits Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantekyi today as he runs for AWAFU Zone B presidential election in the Garden city of Kumasi. Nyantekyi automatically becomes the leader of the sub regional body because no other candidate filed nominations to contest the position. His two year stewardship as president of WAFU has expired and when elected into office today will mean he is starting a second term. Already there are proposals to extend the tenure of office from two to four years which is likely to be approved ahead of the congress today. GFA boss Nyantakyi is seeking to continue with his policy of reviving regional competitions the West African sub region This year�s GOtv WAFU Cup has been relatively successful with eight countries participating in the competition that was previously dormant. The competition has been invigorated courtesy sponsorship packages from KENPONG TRAVEL AND TOURS as well as continental sports broadcaster SuperSport which has seen all the matches broadcast live in sub-Saharan Africa for the first time in the history of the event.
