Andre Ayew Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

Ghana winger Andre Dede Ayew has undergone a successful knee surgery under Marseille doctor Doctor Jean-Pierre Franceschi, a family source has told Ghanasportsonline.com. "Dede's operation took hours to complete, thank God he came out successfully." The source told ghanasportsonline.com Following his painful left-knee injury, picked up in a collision on Tuesday in Ghana's World Cup play-off against Egypt, Andr� Ayew asked to be substituted in the 55th minute. After returning to Marseille on Wednesday afternoon, Andr� Ayew underwent a series of clinical examinations under the direction of Christophe Baudot's club medical staff. Further tests on Thursday confirmed the initial diagnostic: Andr� Ayew has contracted an unstable injury to his exterior meniscus. According to club sources the Ghana internaonal midfielder is predicted to be out of action for about eight weeks and is expected to be ready for a return to competitive action at the end of January 2014. The son of the soccer maestro has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals.
