A management member of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dr. Peter Tobin has promised that, the company will cease the media battle with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) which has generate many cacophonies in recent times. According to him, Tobinco will heed to the call of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health directives to stop the brouhaha. �We are not going to talk on the substance of this matter anymore,� he stated. His comment came after the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health stepped into the ongoing wrangling between the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited and the Pharmaceutical Society to end the media war. A statement signed by the Health Committee�s chairman, Joseph Yieleh Chireh and issued on Thursday, November 29, 2013 described the media war as �unnecessary and unhelpful�, and hoped putting a stop to it will create a congenial atmosphere for a peaceful resolution of the issues. The Committee also charged the security agencies working with the FDA to exercise �tact and discreetness� in the discharge of their duties. In an interview with Adabraka- based Citi FM, Dr. Tobin assured that the company would heed to the call of the Parliamentary Select Committee. �We respect the powers of the health committee and we think that their intervention on this impasse is actually very timely,� he said. Adding that, �We respect them (Parliamentary Select Committee on Health) and believe that they have the mandate and ability to resolve the issue amicably�.
