Pray For Nana Addos Return -NPP Asia-Pacific Caucus

The Asia-Pacific Caucus of the New Patriotic Party wish to place on record our believe in the good leadership qualities and style of the 2012 Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, and our firm conviction that he is the right person to steer the affairs of the party for victory in the 2016 elections and that there is the urgent need for all party members to pray for his return to frontline politics. As key stake holders of the Party, we the members of the Asia Pacific Caucus, made up of the partys branches in Asia including the China, Japan and Korea branches, are of the view that there is no point in changing a leader who remains our best chance for victory in the 2016 election hence our decision to call on all party faithful to look beyond personal interest and place the interest of the party first by supporting a Nana Addo 2016 bid so as to ensure that the nation benefits from selfless, dedicated and results-driven leadership under an Akufo-Addo presidency come 2017. Although Nana Addo is yet to officially declare his intentions concerning the 2014 presidential primaries, we believe Nana is not a selfish leader and that he will once again make his leadership qualities available to the party and the nation as a whole by considering to join the race. We have also noted with much satisfaction the calls by numerous groups within the party, especially at the grassroot level, for Nana Addo to return to lead the party for victory in 2016. These calls, we believe, affirm the good leadership qualities of Nana Addo. It is also our firm belief that under an Akufo Addo presidency, come 2017, the nation will never witness instances where questionable contracts of the likes of the SUBAH, GYEEDA, SADA, etc are entered into by government. Neither will there be instances where the presidency will be used to promote the personal interest of relatives of the president because Nana Addo is not corrupt, has never been corrupt and will never be corrupt and as such is the best candidate for the party, come 2016. However, bearing in mind the numerous potentials of NPP members, and the fact that others may have their own presidential ambitions and in the spirit of true democracy, we welcome and in fact encourage all those who believe they have better qualities than Nana Addo and intend contesting the 2014 presidential primaries, to join the race but do so in a dignified manner, without attacking the reputation of any candidate. At the end of the day, it is our hope that all delegates will rise up to the occasion and place the interest of the party first by selecting a candidate with the proven track record of good leadership who is not coming to learn on the job but will hit the ground running from day one, someone who has already been marketed and has on several occasions made personal sacrifices in the interest of peace and stability of the nation at critical times in our recent history. To us, Nana Akuffo Addo, to date, remains the most viable presidential material and our partys best chance of securing victory in the 2016 general elections. We welcome any person or groups of persons who believe otherwise, to present their case for discussion. Until that is done, we wish to urge all party delegates to pray to God for the return of Nana Addo into frontline politics and make him offer himself once again to serve the party as its 2016 flagbearer. Let us all remember that Ghana needs to move forward, and we can only do that when we have a unifying force to lead the New Patriotic Party to victory, come 2016 and as committed members of the party, it is our responsibility to ensure that we choose a leader like Nana Akufo Addo to lead not only the party, but also the entire nation to a brighter future. Thank you. Signed Dr Charles Dwamena Branch Chairman, NPP China Chairman, NPP-Asia Pacific Caucus Mr Abu Rahman Branch Secretary, NPP China Mr Bernard Oppong Kusi Branch Chairman, NPP Japan Dr Samuel Amponsah Branch Secretary, NPP Japan Secretary, NPP-Asia Pacific Caucus
