Aprakus Decision To Contest Does Not Mean He Is Disloyal

Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, a former Campaign Manager to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in the 2008 elections, has recently come under severe attacks from his own party members.

This was after he declared his intention to contest for the presidential slot of the NPP and after he allegedly maligned Nana Addo.

Addressing a group of past graduates from Tertiary institutions of the NPP in Kumasi, Dr Apraku asserted that the party's leaders deserve to be changed and purportedly called for a possible revolution if only the NPP hopes to win power, come 2016.

He asserted that, after two successive defeats, there is the need for a re-election to "diagnose the causes of the defeat rather than to dream to lead the party again."

Speaking on Peace FM, Alfred Ogbamey remarked that there is no need to crucify Dr Apraku.

There is no need for insultsApraku has the right to contest for the position. His decision to contest does not mean that he is disloyal. Nanas time is over and he says he wants to contest; it is his choice; deal with him and show that he is not fit for that post and that Nana is better However, I feel that Nana has an advantage; deal with his strength and stop insulting those who want to challenge him he said.
