The Dribbling Magician feels the former Phobian is too old to fit into his plans as he wants to build a young, but winsome team in the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak coach Mohammed Polo has insistently stated that he does not need the services of winger Bernard Don-Bortey.
The 31-year-old who rose to fame with the Phobians is harbouring hopes of returning to the team, but the new coach maintains his aim is to build a young, but winsome team.
We dont need Don Bortey now, Polo told Joy FM. I have a mission and that is to prepare a young team for the future.
He added: We are looking at grooming the younger ones for a successful Hearts future and I dont think Don Bortey falls within this bracket.
He could be playing well wherever he is but we currently dont need him. This is not to say that he is not a good player, far from that.
