A head of the stipulated campaign period to be set for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) national congress, the incumbent chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei has started campaigning for a re-run.
This action according to some angry youth in the party will not help him. They said because, he knows for sure that he is going to lose his position, he is using any means, to keep the position hence the early campaign.
According to them Dr. Kwabena Adjei�s attitude is a breach of the NDC party�s constitution and he must be brought to book.
Dr. Adjei is also being accused of coming out openly to say �I will win the next elections hands down.�
The youth were of the view that, his behavior is a slap in the face of the NDC constitution by campaigning ahead of a given time table. Therefore, his actions are a sign of desperation and that he wants to use incumbency to his advantage, to the detriment of other contestants.
The NDC chairman, they pointed out made the open declaration when speaking to a section of the media during the launch of Fiesta T.V and the One Ghana project in Accra.
�Having been around for close to 30-40 years I know the concerns of the youth, and given the opportunity, I will do everything possible to address their concerns.
We have not struggled in vain, and I would not leave the scene for a novice I ought to complete what I began,� Dr. Kwabena Adjei stated. He also added, �go and do your research well, I will win. I did not want to say this, but now that the opportunity is here, let me tell my competitors that, I am a chairman for life and I shall win come the next congress.�
However, investigations conducted indicates that, hardworking and well known personalities in the NDC party like the NADMO Boss, Mr. Kofi Portuphy, Mr. Dan Abodakpi and Alhaji Huudu Yahaya are likely to contest for the position of the National Chairman.
