MPs Reject Jake & Dr. Adjei

The MPs from the minority side agrees with the position of the Assin Central MP Hon. Kennedy Agyapong who is leading the crusade to ensure that Jake is not re-elected. He has publicly accused the incumbent executives which Jake heads as being corrupt and must be voted out. Our party is deeply divided than ever under chairman Jake, a situation which we must dispensed with before the 2016 general election. Politics is about trust, one NPP MP from Greater Accra Region, the home region of Mr. Obetsibi Lamptey pointed out and claimed that Mr. Obetsebi Lamptey met them ahead of his election in 2010 and pledged to protect them from going for party primaries, he forgot about that promise, she lamented. His decision to acquire his official bungalow in itself creates a negative impression in the minds of the public about our party as people seeking to amass should vote for NPP in 2016. The next NPP Chairman must be able to articulate a detailed plan moving forward that includes Bono Ahafo, Central and Western and Greater Accra Regions where the party has seen a major declined votes since president Kufuor left office. Though the MPs declined to name their ideal candidate for the position, they were totally opposed to Jakes re-election bid and urged NPP delegates to reject him. Majority NDC MPs who also spoke to the paper said what the party need is a chairman who is well organized and understands the feelings of party more wealth and he must be punished for that. What we need as party preparing to avoid a third defeat, is a chairman who is trust worthy and sincere and will sand by the interest of the party and nothing else. A chairman who is to be accountable to the party, a person with better credibility to chair the party ahead of the 2016 general election. Candidates such as Paul Afoko, Ayiquaye Otoo, Fred Oware and Stephen Ntim according to the MPs need to articulate a comprehensive plan for outreach for voters and tell the public why they supporters. We cant go into 2016 election with this same altitude of not caring about how party activities are organized, said one MP from Volta region the World Bank of the party. Another MP said the NDC is now like a child who has lost the parents and is being taking care of by the senior brothers. Its only General Mosquito and Yaw Boateng Gyan who are running the party and but for them our party would have been in total disarray. The fact is that if we want to win the next election, we have to beak this impression of being privileged and out of touch with our grassroots members, said a defeated parliamentary candidate from the Brong Ahafo region who maintains that Dr. Kwabena Adjei is out of touch with party members. NDC members expect their national executives to understand their problems and do something about it, and this is what the incumbent chairman has failed to do. The priority is that the next national chairman must reconnect with all interest groups within the party who thought Dr. Kwabena Adjei lived a different world to them and reassured them of partys desire to improve their circumstance, said another MP. A few months ago a group known as Volta Regional NDC Youth for Action, said Dr. Kwabena Agyei has outlived his usefulness in office and should be replaced at the next NDC national delegates congress.
