Lets Stay United To Knockout NDC In 2016 Jumah Tells NPP

Former Member of Parliament for Asokwa constituency, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has called on party members to stop attacking each other in public and work together in unity to return the NPP to power in 2016. According to him, the NPP cannot afford to lose the 2016 elections at a time, he says, the incompetent National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has run down the state. Kofi Jumah was reacting to comments by Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku which have generated a lot of controversy in the party. Some argue that Dr. Aprakus call for a winnable candidate is ill-timed since nominations for flagbearership position has not been opened. Others like Dr. Arthur Kennedy who is vying for that position believes a change of the presidential candidate will end the partys electoral woes. Speaking on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, Kofi Jumah cautioned against unnecessary provocation of opponents. According to him, inasmuch as an aspirant might want to outwit his opponent, it must be done in a decorous manner. We must dirty ourselves to get rid of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and not our own party members he stated. Kofi Jumah indicated that the ordinary Ghanaian who is languishing in abject poverty is looking up to NPP to come to power therefore if we keep fighting amongst ourselves, they wont take us serious. He said it is evident that the NDC only knows how to rig elections but cannot govern, but the NPP with the track record of turning a Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPC) into a middle income country is the only party to salvage Ghana. The former Asokwa MP cited how the erstwhile Kufuor administration with its team A ministers turned the country and the economy around in just eight years in power to buttress his point. Kofi Jumah said recent development in the country points to the fact the NPP is the government in waiting, cautioning that members must not derail its chances in 2016. The NDC has done nothing than to create, loot and share in government so lets stay focused to kick them out in 2016.
