Mahama Should Know He Is No Longer PRO Of Japan Embassy But Prez Of Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama's recent call on his Ministers to make presentations at the Flagstaff House with regards to certain targets they have set for themselves which they were expected to achieve within the framework of the Presidents vision, has been described by a member of the opposition New Patriotic Party as a Public Relations gimmick meant to hoodwinked Ghanaians into believing the President is working. The Flagstaff House announced the appraisal section of Ministers and sector Ministers on Monday and said the exercise commences on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. But Asamoah Gyamfi asserts the performance bond which President Mahama has announced is nothing new saying the various reshuffles by past administrations are as a result of performance assessment of the ministers. Challenging the importance of the appraisal of the ministers, the NPP communicator averred on Ghana Decides program on Okay Fm, that he does not see the performance review as a novelty, but rather a Public Relations tactic by government. He was of the view that, in order for Ghanaians to believe the performance bond, President Mahama should have published the contract and the targets he has set for his ministers in the first place for the public to appreciate the importance of the performance bond. ..the reality is that the 2013 budget was thrown to the dogs and so many ministries, agencies and departments could not meet their targets due to financial constraints.....it is impossible for the President to bond them and for what achievement, if I may ask? President Mahama should know that he is no longer PRO of the Japan Embassy but the President of the Republic of Ghana, he opined. To him, the performance review has nothing to do with development, creation of jobs and meeting inflation targets, but rather, has everything to do with President Mahamas reckless management of the economy.
