Golden Tulip Workers On Strike

Junior employees of the Golden Tulip hotel in Accra are embarking on a sit-down strike. According to reports, this is due to the failure of management to pay their salaries and bonuses for the month of December. The aggrieved workers also stated that they will not resume work unless all outstanding amounts have been paid. Speaking to Citi News on condition of anonymity, one of the workers revealed that discussions with senior management to settle all arrears had proved futile. We are currently on a sit down strike; the staff are also refusing to work because our end of year bonus has not been paid too and our salaries too has not reached the bank as at 31st December.'' ''They have been on the negotiation for some time now and it is not yielding fruits. Nobody is going to work, we will embark on strike until management meet our demands,'' he stressed.
