We the entire New Patriotic Party Youth in the northern region after polling station, constituency and regional consultations have decided to appeal to Nana Addo, our flag bearer in the 2012 elections, to come back to lead us to victory in 2016. It is our plea that he does not even remotely consider not running.
Calls for Nana Addo to run for 2016 are increasing every day, both inside and outside the party. In the market place, in the churches and mosque, at weddings and funerals, indeed at any gathering of two or more people, the most considered subject matter is whether Nana is coming back or not. The consensus however is that ��Nana nibikana tikulan voti�� which loosely translates into ��if Nana does not come back we will not vote again.�� This is the reality on the ground. Therefore, Nana, you have no choice. You are the people�s man for 2016.
Our wish and desire to have you Nana represent us in the 2016 general elections cannot and should not be ignored by you. Indeed the polling station and constituency elections where keenly contested in anticipation of a Nana/Bawumia come back.
It is not lost on us that in Nana�s concession speech after the Supreme Court verdict in which he endeared himself to all Ghanaians and the international community, he decided to take a break and commune with his God to determine his political future. It is our sincere hope that God has spoken to him like he did to Moses on Mount Sinai to come deliver his people from bondage.
We have not ceased praying and communing with God ourselves. The results of our prayers are always the same, go back for the stone the EC builders refused for he shall save you from your predicaments. It is the same God we have been praying to and it is our hope that Nana has been spoken to and has listened to the voice of God for it is the voice of the people, and he will heed to that call. This time we the youth pledge to Nana Addo that we will take up the responsibility to protect the votes he will get. We will campaign for him and guard the votes with all our might.
The NPP and its entire leadership should as much as possible do all it possibly can to appeal to Nana to come back. We edge every member of the party from polling station to national and especially our parliamentarians to call on Nana to come back. This is not the time to create new factions in the party and spend the next five years struggling to seal the new cracks.
We, therefore, wish to appeal to all to let us unite fully behind Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to ensure total victory in 2016, a victory that is won and declared and Nana sworn in as President. This is the time for continuity to ensure unity and victory.
Furthermore, we wish to urgently edge Nana to come back home. We miss him in the NPP, Ghana misses him and even the NDC misses him. We need a sense of direction and leadership. We need him to help us start the process of wining 2016. It is our wish that Nana touches down on Ghanaian soil without further delay for the time to sow the seeds of 2016 is now.
