GHALCA Members Swerve GFA Boss

Members of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) yesterday shunned the presence of the Ghana Football Association president at a crunch meeting to decide on seeking financial support for the ailing league. It is reported that the representatives of the clubs at the meeting decided to bring their discussions to an end upon the arrival of the GFA boss at the venue. Mr Nyantakyi was supposedly attending the meeting to represent his premier league club Wa All Stars but was told the meeting had closed so he missed the discussions. The GFA boss told reporters "I came in and they told me the meeting had ended so in fact I don't even know a little of what was discussed so I cannot say anything as at now". "Remember I own a club that is Wa All Stars so I came to represent them here but am told everything had already been said and more so nobody is telling me anything about what really transpired so I dont know". "I cannot tell if they discussed boycotting the league or not. I have told you I was late for the meeting and I haven't been briefed by anybody about what went on". The sixteen (16) clubs claim they lack the financial wherewithal to compete in the top-flight and had thus threatened to withdraw their participation. The Ghana Premier League is without a headline sponsor for the season and clubs have only disbursed US$ 12,500 raked in from the SuperSport TV deal.
