Ghana�s highlife legend Nana Kwame Ampadu will be performing a fundraising live concert in Switzerland as part of his 50th anniversary tour in aid of the Swiss Children�s Home at Balahi in northern Ghana.
Billed �The Campaign of Humanity for Kayayei�, the philosopher of African proverbs and folklore will also be sharing his expertise, during the tour, with students of the Geneva University in a cultural exchange programme whereby Swiss students would discover Ghana and chose various voluntary projects in schools, care work, teaching and extending general welfare for kayayei.
Speaking in an interview, the music legend said every Ghanaian had the moral duty to support what he described as �the unfortunate segment of our populace�.
�We should all contribute our quota to our dear head potters,� he added.
Blessed with over 800 songs, the huge figure in the local music industry has written a movie titled, �The Kaya Girl� which reveals how Zaria, a kayayo escaped a force marriage, defied all odds to finally graduate from the University of Ghana.
