Standard Chartered Bank Supports Nii Okai's Saving Hearts Project

Standard Chartered Bank has presented a cheque of GHS15,000 to Nii Okai Ministries in support of �The Mokob�@10 SavingHearts Project� which was officially launched last Saturday December 21 at the Oak Plaza Hotel. The presentation ceremony took place at the Bank�s Head Office where Nii Okai introduced 6-year old Enoch Addai, who hails from Brong Ahafo to the Bank authorities as the first beneficiary of the project, shortlisted by the Ghana Heart Foundation. The project is focused on raising funds for the purpose of financing heart surgeries for 10 needy Ghanaian children less than 10 years with cardiovascular diseases, across the 10 regions of Ghana. The Heart Foundation is responsible for identifying the beneficiaries and disbursing donations raised by Nii Okai Ministries and partners to same. Commenting Nii Okai Nunoo, Standard Chartered�s Regional Head of Sustainability for Africa said �At Standard Chartered we intend, through our actions, to have a broader positive impact on the communities where our staff live and work. It is therefore heartwarming to know that a child in each region in this country is going to experience a significant change in his or her life because once again, this Bank has delivered on its Brand Promise, Here for good.� Standard Chartered Bank has, over the years, won praise and acclaim for its community initiatives. This has been through its core and ongoing projects in the areas of environmental protection, curable sight restoration, HIV/AIDS, education and the award winning 100 wells for 100 communities� project through which the Bank provided a total of 100 bore-holes to an equal number of communities across the country. Nii Okai thanked the Bank for leading the way in supporting �The Mokob�@10 SavingHearts Project�, which promises to bring benefit to 10 needy young Ghanaians and their families within 10 months. He indicated that several friends and partners contributed immensely during the grand launch last Saturday. The Saving Hearts Tour officially takes off in 2014 and will span 10 months.
