Finally! Ketasco Lift 2014 Sprite Ball

Keta Secondary School have emerged champions of Ghana�s most prestigious Basket Ball competition, the 2014 edition of the Sprite Ball. The Volta Region-based school beat favourites PRESEC Legon 25-18 in the final on Saturday, held at the Basket Ball Court of the El Wak Stadium in Accra. Captain John Teye received a cheque for a cash prize the giant trophy on behalf of his ecstatic teammates from the Senior Marketing Manager of Coca Cola, Mrs Linda Larbi. �We really wanted to win this. We had �meant� [seriously coveted] this trophy,� Teye said. �We are Ketasco! We�re happy we�ve made Volta Region proud.� Ketasco coach Kofi Siaw Boateng was bestowed with the best coach of the tournament award, whilst their star man player Sedem Tetevi was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the two-day Championship. Aggrey Memorial�s Joana Danso scooped the MVP award�s equivalent in the female category. In the Girl�s category, Kumasi based TI Ahmadiya (Amass) grabbed the ultimate prize, beating a strong Aggrey Memorial side to it. Mfantsiman girls placed third in the competition. Vociferous fans of Kumasi Secondary Technical School (K.S.T.S) were adjudged the best fans of the competition, after energetically cavorting about the venue. All winning schools received products ranging from bags to exercise books from title sponsors Sprite, as well as some products from secondary sponsors Indomie Instant Noodles. Each also took home a cash prize sponsored by Sprite. There were also dance competitions to complement the championship, with a lots of fun and music amidst a huge turn up of teenage secondary school boys and girls. The Sprite Ball competition, established in 2007, is a Right Multimedia collaboration with Sprite, and is Ghana�s biggest Basket Ball competition competed for by Senior High Schools.
