Ghana Cruise To Last Four

Ghana have booked a place in the last four of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) after pipping the Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 at the Free State Stadium on Sunday. The win sets up a semi final clash with perennial rivals Nigeria on Wednesday. The Stars advanced after Kwebena Adusei notched home from the spot in the 67th minute after a Congolese defender handled the ball in the box while attempting to clear an effort from Jordan Opoku. The goal, Adusei's second and makes him the top scorer for the team takes Ghana to the last four for the first time in three years. Ghana stepped into the game in hope to exert revenge on the Congolese who dashed the local Black Stars' hope of annexing the maiden edition of the competition hosted by Cote de' Ivoire in 2009. The Congolese dominated most part of the exchange but failed to find the back of the net. Ghana join Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Libya as the semi finalists.
