Three Notorious Robbers Arrested In Kumasi

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested a notorious armed robber who escaped from a Kumasi KMA circuit court while on trial. Prince Adu Gyamfi was allegedly arrested for shooting a security man; who died instantly during a robbery incident at the Ashford Hotel at Bantama near the Ashanti regional NPP office. Addressing the press, the outgoing Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Augustine Gyening explained that the notorious armed robber Prince Adu Gyamfi alias Anaaku was arrested yesterday when he and his newly formed gang went on another robbery spree at North Patase a suburb of Kumasi. He however managed to escape but was arrested that same evening. A search on him revealed a locally manufactured pistol. DCOP Augustine Gyening added that they had intelligence that he was planning also to attack the Ridge Police Station in Kumasi where his girlfriend was in remand. His other accomplices including a second year student of Osei Tutu Senior High School, Augustus Manu and Rafius Adams unemployed, were also arrested last night at a police checkpoint at Dichemso,a suburb of kumasi. A check on them revealed 3 laptops, substances suspected to be wee, a locally manufactured pistol, knife and clothes used for robbery.
