Black Maidens coach, Evans Adotey has set his sight on a win over Germany to aid the team's progress to the next stage of the FIFA U-17 female tourney underway in Costa Rica.
The Maiden, bronze medalist at the last edition in Azerbaijan won their group opener 2-0 against Korea DPR and Adotey insists his side was preoccupied with victory when they meet Germany on Tuesday.
He told GNA Sports "A win on Tuesday against Germany will ensure that we qualify to the next stage because I need only three points to qualify out of the group."
The Germans rallied to draw Canada 2-2 in their opener, making the meeting with Ghana even more demanding. When both teams met in Azerbaijan, the Germans prevailed at the group stage only for Ghana to pip them to bronze later in the tournament.
Adotey have great respect for the Germans despite their draw against Canada.
He said, "Looking at Germany as compared to the previous edition, I see an all-round new team. Against Canada, they were down 2-0 but came all the way after 60 minutes to end the game 2-2.
"This is an indication that we have to be careful. I am preparing to make sure that Ghana go around Germany."
He said "I am not worried but it is always good for a coach to be get ready. My first game plan is to keep a clean sheet. If I don't score, they don't score.
" I would not rush into goal scoring. My objective is to win this particular game." A win on Tuesday will move the Ghanaian campaign into gear.
