Erykah Badu To Headline Cape Town Jazz International Festival

American singer Erykah Badu is expected to be the centre of attraction as she joins top jazz icons from around the world at the 15th edition of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival in South Africa. The festival will kick off on March 28 till April at the Cape Town International Convention Centre where the event will be hosted for the tenth year. Over 40 celebrated artistes will be performing with Erykah Badu being the headline act. The festival is already being characterized as a raving success. Now ranked as one of the best festivals in the world, the various artistes will perform simultaneously on different multiple stages. Jazz music lovers all over the world will meet and enjoy jazz classics over the weekend of March 28, 2014. The Cape Town International Jazz Festival started in 2000 but was known as part of the North Sea Jazz Festival.However, from 2005 onwards, the festival was renamed the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. The musical event festival has grown since it first started in 2000 as attendance has grown from 14,000 to 34,000 in 2013. Past performers have included greats such as Earth, Wind and Fire, The Flames, George Benson and Lisa Bauer, to name just a few. There are a lot of activities that attendees can benefit from as there is also musical and training workshops offered at the festival which is a demonstration of Cape Town Jazz Festival�s commitment to developing not only the music industry but also the community.
