Gladys Amfobea Assures: Maidens Will Bring World Cup Trophy To Ghana

Gladys Amfobea scorer of Ghana's only goal against Germany at the ongoing FIFA U-17 women's world cup in Costa Rica has promised that the Black Maidens will bring the trophy to Ghana at the end of the tournament. Amfobea in an interview shortly after the Maidens final group game against Canada said that she prays to be up and promised to be at her best all the time while also stating that beyond scoring goals for the team, she is also focused on creating goal scoring chances for the attackers in the team to score and also defend well in order to achieve their enviable dream of winning the coveted trophy for the first time. "I just pray God should continue to keep me up so that I will always be at my best at all time. My next matches, I intend to score more goals and create more chances for my attackers to score." "All the girls have resolved to give out our best to qualify the team to the finals and ultimately win the trophy and we promise to do that". Amfobea thereafter urged Ghanaians to be steadfast in praying for the team, as the girls are determined to do Ghana proud in the tournament by going all out for the main objective of winning the trophy. "What I have to tell Ghanaians is for them to continue praying for us, that's what we need, that's their support, for now that's what we need from them, by the grace of God we won't let them down, we will make sure we defend our nation and by his grace God willing we will bring back the trophy to Ghana," Amfobea submitted.
