Prof. Mintah Endorses Wives And Fiances In Black Stars Camp

Professor Joseph Mintah, Psychologist of the senior national team, Black Stars, has endorsed the presence of wives and fiances in the camp of the team, during the 2014 Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup in Brazil. He told the GNA Sports that, it will be ideal for the players to be allowed to make arrangements for their families to join them at the World Cup, because it will bring the best out of them. Research has shown that, when people are away from their families for 21 days, it results in all manner of agitations hence there is the need for steps to be taken to curb these possible agitations. If we allow the players to send their wives and fiances to the World Cup, it will grant them adequate concentration for the assignment at hand because they will no longer think about home. But this must be done with a lot of caution especially when dealing with the unmarried ones. Prof. Mintah stated. He however noted, the FA must discuss it with the players before approval, adding that those without wives must also be made to communicate the names of their fiances to the FA for onward discussion. The players must inform the FA about their official fiance to enable the FA hold discussions with them and allow them in the camp of the team. He stated. Prof. Mintah said, the wives and fiancees will be allowed to stay in a nearby hotel, whilst arrangements are made for them to meet the players at specific times. According to Prof. Mintah, who is also a coach, he had already submitted a proposal to the technical team and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for consideration. He said the GFA and the head of the technical team were yet to give their response on the proposal but stated that, it will be part of the strategies that could bring the best out of the team.
