GFA Boss Nyantakyi - Ghana League Is 'Far Far Better' Than the South African League

Ghana Football Association president Kwasi Nyantakyi has insisted that Ghana's top flight league is miles ahead of the South African Premier Soccer League and thus he sees no reason in using the ABSA sponsored league as a yardstick in measuring the Ghanaian game. The GFA boss stated that the South African league might rank higher on an economic league table than Ghana's domestic top flight but when it comes to the quality of football, the ABSA premiership comes nowhere near the Ghana Premier league. "You think the South Africa league is better than the Ghana league?" Mr Nyantakyi quizzed. "If that is what you say then I will also tell you that you watch a different league match altogether because personally, and I insist that personally, I think the Ghana league is far far better than the South African league". "If anybody says the South African league has a quality than the Ghana league then I bet to differ my brother then you watch different games from mine". "Ghana league league ranks so high, Even in South Africa if you meet Stanley Mathew he will tell you that the Ghana league rank higher higher higher, so many miles away from the South African league". "You can do a league table for economic reasons and you can do a league table for football reasons and economic reasons necessarily do not have a relationship with the quality of football, Brazil they produce the quality of footballers in the World but all their players are playing in Europe so why are their players moving to Europe". The Ghana Premier League was ranked 77th in the World, according to the latest rankings of International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). The World ranking for the Strongest National Leagues has been determined annually by the IFFHS since 1991 on the basis of all national (championship, FA Cup) and (inter)continental (confederations & FIFA club competitions) results of the clubs.
