Why Did VGMA Not Nominate My Song 'I Win'?- Cwesi Oteng

Ghanaian heavy weight contemporary gospel artiste, Cwesi Oteng has said in an exclusive interview with Flex newspaper that he is very surprised his song 'I Win' was not nominated in this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Speaking to this reporter, Cwesi said, I mean a major song like 'I Win' which was big in every part of this country was not nominated? This is surprising and unbelievable but you know I don't want to talk about it. I can certainly tell you that on every young man's phone in the country, you will find 'I win' on it than any other gospel song but they did not recognize it, he noted. He then asked for further explanation from the organizers. Maybe they can explain that to us. I released the song in June/July last year and the video was shot but delayed in release because Nana Asihene could not edit it for us on time but even with that, unless they tell me they nominate a song according to when the video is released. I mean if you go to everywhere, Kumasi, Takoradi, Ho, everybody is talking about 'I win' and all their radio stations are playing it, he said. So for me, I am throwing my weight behind Sonnie Badu because, he is the only gospel musician left in the highest categories and for the fact that, he is coming from the contemporary world. I mean Sonnie Badu is a strong contender. How many artistes in Ghana have been able to fill the stadium?? he asked.
