MTN Donates To Asantehene

Mobile telecommunications Network (MTN) has paid a courtesy call on Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Led by their new Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Serame Tankobong, the MTN Group presented five-system units and five modems in addition to GH3,000 cash to the Asante Monarch to support his educational fund. The visit and the presentation also coincided with Asantehenes celebration of his 15th year as king of the Asante Kingdom. Corporate Service Executive of MTN, Cynthia Lumor, who addressed the media after the presentation, noted that they had come to commend him for the good works he is doing for Asante and Ghana. She said the celebration of Awukudae and the 15th year of the king was not a minor celebration on the Asante calendar hence they chose this period to show their appreciation to him for the nice reception he has given MTN in his kingdom. Asante kingdom, she said, has been very instrumental in MTNs leadership in the mobile telecommunication business in this country. According to Mrs. Lumor, MTN is very pleased that education is one of the most important visions of the Asantehene hence their resolve to help him in that regard. Earlier, they took the opportunity to introduce their new CEO, Serame Tankobong, to the Asantehene.
