FIFA Approves June 4th Ending For Ghana League, Local Players To Miss Out

World Football governing body, FIFA has written to the Premier league board of the Ghana football Association granting the PLB a stamp of approval to the new June 4th date for the end of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League with a condition that the Black Stars cannot include local players in their squad for the 2014 World Cup. This means the Black Stars Coach Kwasi Appiah may have to avoid including too many locally based players in the team for the Brazil 2014 tournament. Aduana Stars goalkeeper Stephen Adams is likely to be the only home based player to be included in the 30-man Black Stars provisional list but officials of the senior national teams management committee are set to hold talks with the Dormaa based club to ensure the absence of the shot-stopper does not affect them in their last few top flight matches. The worlds football governing body had earlier mandated the Ghana FA and all of its member associations to ensure their respective domestic top flights end on May 18th. The Premier League Board decided to move the last matches in the domestic top flight to June 4th to allow for a short break to allow the leagues outstanding matches involving five teams Medeama, Liberty, Heart of Lions, AshantiGold and Aduana to be cleared between April 30, 2014 and May 18, 2014.
