The Final funeral rites for the late Fennec Okyere was anticipated to be peaceful and solemn but it turned out to be a tumultuous incident which saw the widow being barred from attending the funeral and having her name scrapped from the obituary posters and funeral brochures of her husband.
Still wanting to pay her last respects to her slain husband, the widow, Amaki has released a statement announcing the organization of a memorial service for Fennec Okyere.
Spokesperson for the widow, Madam Mirekuaa, stated that the service is being put together because the wife of the deceased and her family did not get the opportunity to participate in the final funeral rites of Fennec. �We are organizing this memorial service or songs of service to pray for Amaki and her child. Since we could not take part in the burial, we are doing this as a sign of last respect to our late husband and friend,� she told the Razz newspaper.
When asked whether the service was opened to the general public, she responded that,� It is for the wife�s family and close friends,� the memorial service is scheduled for 3rd May, 2014 and will commence at 8am at the family residence.
