The striker, who is gunning to switch allegiance to play for Ghana, is optimistic this is the Black Stars year to upset the World Cup favourites with their fine form.
Ghanaian-born Burkinabe international Nii Adamah Plange believes that the Black Stars are capable of becoming the first African country to win the World Cup.
The 24-year-old Vitoria Guimaraes forward, who has recently declared his intention to switch his international allegiance to play for Ghana, feels that the four-time African champions can match giants such as Spain, Brazil, and Germany.
Ghana have a good team. The likes of [Asamoah] Gyan, Kevin [Prince Boateng], [Kwadwo] Asamoah have been in tremendous form this season, and given their squad, they deserve to be among the favourites to win the tournament, Plange told Goal Ghana.
Along with Spain, Brazil, Germany though, Ghana are a team on another level from most others. The talent is most definitely there.
However, this time they also have to prove that in the games that really matter like semi-finals or finals - if they can make it that far - that they also have that little bit of luck that makes you a winner.
I think the team can do that as they have outstanding players. Im just as excited to see how the other contenders perform, but Ghana certainly deserve to be counted among the favourites, Plange added.
Ghana have been paired in the same group with US, Germany and Portugal.
