The Greater Accra Regional Director of Health Service, Dr. Linda Van Otoo, is disturbed about how Health providers are blamed for maternal deaths. She believes society contributes largely to this, because it has a larger influence on the lives of pregnant women. Dr. Van Otoo has therefore called on civil society organisations and relevant institutions to partner government to achieve the Millennium Development Goal Five to reduce maternal and child deaths by 75% next year. Dr. Van Otoo made the call at a sensitization workshop to achieve MDG-5 in Accra.
