Feyenoord Dump Holders, Medeama Out Of FA Cup

Medeama have no chance of defending their FA Cup title after they were defeated 2-1 in the quarter-final by first-tier side, Feyenoord on Wednesday. Feyenoord, who have secured promotion to the elite division will now play Inter Allies in the semi-finals on Sunday at the Accra Stadium. The defeat ends any hopes of a silverware this season and also a return to continental football for the Mauves who now need to fight against relegation in the Premier League. It was the third consecutive defeat in competitive football for Medeama. Godbless Asamoah put the Cup holders in the lead after 27 minutes as the Mauves held to their slim lead to end the first half 1-nil up. The second half saw Feyenoord push for the equaliser and succeeded in drawing level through Abubakar Ibrahim in the 57th minute. And with seven minutes remaining on the clock, Feyenoord struck the major blow when Samuel Tetteh scored the winner to send them through to the last-four as their remarkable season continued.
