GGBL Appoints Finance Director

Mr Stephen Nirenstein has been appointed as Finance Director of the Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL). His appointment took effect from April 24, 2014. Mr Nirenstein joins GGBL from Diageo Budapest, Hungary, where he was the Group Financial Planning and Analysis Director. He led a business performance management reporting process that moved beyond providing reliable, accurate and timely management information to driving insights behind performance. At the same time he led the simplification of the annual planning process and developed a well respected and highly motivated team. Mr Peter Ndegwa, the Managing Director of GGBL, said �we are delighted to have Stephen join the GGBL executive management team. �He will play a pivotal role in achieving the company�s vision of becoming the most vibrant and iconic business in Ghana, focusing on driving out cost to invest in growth, as well as lead in engaging with our investor community.� Prior to moving to Budapest in early 2012, Mr Nirenstein spent three years as the Financial Controller for the Diageo Red Stripe business in Jamaica, prior to which he was the Commercial Finance Manager for Diageo International Beer Supply based in London and also spent a couple of years as the Finance Planning and Reporting Manager for the previous Diageo International business. Mr Nirenstein started his career with Diageo as a brand analyst based in South Africa, where he is originally from. He is a member of the South Africa Institute of Chartered Accountant and an alumnus of the University of Cape Town.
