Thousands of mothers were last Sunday, 4th May, 2014, screened of various diseases as part of Hello Fm's social corporate responsibilities. The activity which proceeded this years mother's day celebrations is a yearly ritual which the station in conjunction with Peace and love Hospital and Breast Care International celebrates to honor mothers for their selfless love and dedication. Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, General manager of Hello, Mr Odei Asare explained that "mothers are very special people and as a way of showing our love to them, we offer them free medical screening". This years screening is very special,unlike the previous ones which they were only screened for breast cancer. This, we added fibroid, eye, cardiac and other common diseases". Mr. Odei Asare added that they have a special appointment with inmates of the Kumasi central female prisons. We will be presenting items to them this Sunday; which happens to be the day for the mothers day celebration. President of the breast care international, Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Wiafi Addai explained and reiterated the need for women to always have their breast examined to ensure that they are safe from the breast cancer disease. "We will continue to educate people of the dangers of the disease as it is killing millions of people daily". Participants expressed their appreciation to Hello FM, subsidiary of the Despite family for their kind gesture and always remembering the pivotal role of mothers in the family, society and the country at large.
