Former Asante Kotoko Executive Board Chairman Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong is in line to take over the position of chief Executive officer at Ghana premier League side AshantiGold FC next season. Ghanasportsonline.com can reveal that Dr Sarpong, a former Chief executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board Company has held countless meetings with the AshantiGold directors in Accra and Obuasi earlier this month and the parties are believed to have agreed on the take-over. Rumours are rife in the local media that current AshantiGold Chief Executive Cudjoe Fianoo is a favourate candidate for the vacant Accra Hearts of Oak Managing Director job and that will pave way for Dr Sarpong's administration at the Len Clay side. Ghanasportsonline.com can confirm that a meting between the AshantiGold board of directors and Dr KK Sarpong's team was held at the Gold House Resort in Accra yesterday where details of the take-over were ironed out and sources say an agreement between the the two have been reached half way. Dr Sarpong won two back-to-back Ghana Premier League titles with Asante Kotoko but the chartered accountant tendered in his resignation barely a year ago as he got incensed with the hails of insults from fans and the constant allegations of financial misappropriation.
