Ashanti Gold SC Banned From Ghana FA Cup For One Year

AshantiGold have been banned from participating in the FA Cup competition for one season. The Obuasi Club will not play in next season's Cup competition after they were found guilty on all three counts of misconduct by the Disciplinary Committee after they failed to turn up for the last-eight fixture against Asante Kotoko at the Accra Stadium on 13 April 2014. AshantiGold were fined GH�5,250.00 in total for not attending the pre-match technical meeting and failure to honour the match without a prior consent and approval from the Ghana Football Association and for bringing the game into disrepute. Also, AshantiGold are to refund to the Ghana Football Association an amount of GH�1,040.00 being cost to the Ghana Police Service for policing on the match day. Three counts of misconduct were preferred against the Miners for their failure to attend the pre-match technical meeting, failure to honour the match without a prior consent and approval from the Ghana Football Association and for bringing the game into disrepute resulting in immeasurable cost and irreparable damage to the GFA from various partners and sponsors
