Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has assured Ghanaians to expect another victory over the USA tonight, since they are ready to die for the nation.
"We're ready to play and die for our country. USA is a good side and a dangerous team but we don't think about our opponents more than what we can do.
"Ghana is always rated as underdogs by the statistics and they are right but we will see what happens tomorrow (Monday). The pitch will decide tomorrow," the ever-confident Gyan stated at a press conference at the Estadio das Dunas in Natal last night.
The Stars skipper believes the Stars are well prepared physically and mentally for the Brazil 2014 World Cup are therefore looking beyond the Americans.
"I think we're well prepared physically and mentally for the World Cup and we're going to participate and see what happens," he said.
"We know the expectations are very high at home and we believe we can do more than we did at the last two World Cups and that has put pressure on us in camp. But we are ready and cannot wait for tomorrow."
He noted that as a striker it was his duty to score goals, but he also believed in team work, as his teammates were all fired up for the US challenge.
A cautiously optimistic Coach Kwasi Appiah acknowledged the strength of his opponents but also expected a third straight victory over the USA today.
"Ghana is ready to put up a good performance because we've gone through very good preparation and the spirit in camp, discipline and unity is so high," he revealed at the packed press conference.
He noted that American football has been developing very well of late as was evident in their pre-tournament friendlies, but could not see how they could stand in the way of a Ghana side so hungry to better their previous Mundial record.
"America is a big football country now and we expect them to give us a good game, but we've got experienced players who want to leave a legacy behind and youthful players who want to make a name for themselves.
"The good thing about the Ghana team is that we have very talented and skillful players, some of whom have pace, making it easy for the coach to choose any tactical play for a game depending on the opponent," the soft-spoken Coach Appiah concluded.
