Nana Konadu Has Not And Will Never Ever Join NDC - Owusu Bempah Refutes Claims

Communications Director of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Ernest Owusu Bempah has vehemently debunked claims that the partys 2012 Presidential candidate, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has returned to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). The NDP firebrand labeled the claims as complete falsehood which in his conviction, is being peddled around by detractors of the party and Ex-President Rawlings wife, Nana Konadu. Ernest Owusu Bempah, popularly known for his outspoken nature, chided government functionaries to be the masterminds behind the reports which have since stormed the air waves. News about Nana Konadu joining forces with the National Democratic Congress went viral on various media platforms in the country. Nana Konadu was said to have somehow backed down on her commitment to the NDP after breaking away from the ruling NDC prior to the 2012 general elections. Nana Konadu fiercely contested the late President John Evans Atta Mills during the NDC Congress, on July 8, 2011 at Sunyani in Brong Ahafo Region, where the late President defeated her in a landslide. Her defeat led to the formation of the National Democratic Party (NDP). Current reports indicated that Nana Konadu wants a comeback to the ruling party. But reacting to the reports in an interview on U TVs Midday News, Owusu Bempah stated emphatically that the ruling party is only riding on the personality of Nana Konadu to make political gains. According to him, Nana Konadu has never nursed any interest to come back to the ruling party. Nana Konadu, he insisted, is still devoted to the NDP and its tenets. Owusu Bempah therefore warned detractors as well as the newspapers making such assertions to desist from it, stressing it smacks of mischief since Nana Konadu will not readily turn her back on the party.
