The seven candidates who took part in balloting for positions on the ballot paper at the headquarters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been giving various meanings to their positions. The seven candidates vying to lead the NPP in the 2016 presidential elections balloted for positions on the ballot paper on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Former Trade and Industry Minister, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku picked the number one spot on the ballot paper, followed by Stephen Asamoah Boateng with Francis Addai Nimoh at the third position. Kofi Osei Ameyaw will be fourth on the paper while John Kwadwo Alan Kyerematen and Nana Akufo-Addo took the fifth and sixth positions respectively. Joe Ghartey will occupy the seventh position. Stephen Asamoah Boateng popularly known as 'Asabee' is confident he will be part of the final five candidates. Speaking in an interview with Nana Yaw Kesse on 'Kokrokoo', Wednesday, Asabee believes his number two spot is a sign of change and victory. "I am happy with the number two position; God is going to make a change, no ordinary change, but a refreshing changeGod on the second day said let there be light and there was light; the light brought a difference. I will bring change; a difference. The two also stands for unityhowever, it is not just the meaning that will make me win but it also gives encouragement. A combination of hardwork and your campaign machinery can also make you win," he intimated. According to him, even though his name might not be part of the most popular in the NPP, he is not perturbed. Everybody has his own leadership style and so when you are perturbed or scared then you are not prepared, he added.
