Clueless Barton Odro Must Resign NPP

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region, David Apinyah Ato Sam has called for the resignation of Deputy Speaker and Member of Parliament of Cape Coast Barton Odro for criticizing the Supreme Court ruling on the Woyome case. Businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome was ordered by the Supreme Court on July 29, to refund all Gh? 51.2 paid to him as a judgment debt during the tenure of the late John Evans Atta Mills. His office has since accepted the Supreme Court ruling, but expressed its desire to pursue its legal options to aid it to seek redress. However, Barton Odro who doubles as a lawyer was quoted as saying on a local radio station in Cape Coast, after the Supreme Court ruling that the state had no case against Woyome. His pronouncement has sparked outrage among members of the New Patriotic Party in the Central Region with many describing his comments as disrespectful and unfair to his constituents. Reacting to Mr. Odros statement on Eyewitness News, David Apinyah expressed disappointment and asked the MP to resign as he could sabotage the governments efforts to retrieving the money. His own government has gone to court asking Woyome to refund the money so how come the same day he appears on air saying that he still justifies his statement, that is our concern and we are asking him to resign. He added: We also feel his statements are unfair to the people of cape coast and to save the little reputation that we have he has to resign.
