NDC Presidential Staffer Passes Away

Another blow hit the NDC yesterday with the reported death of Miss Dzidzo Tay at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Dzidzo, a staffer at the Presidency during the Mills Administration recently graduated from GIMPA. Reports have it that she died of breast cancer. Dzidzo shot to national prominence during the reign of the Kufuor led-NPP government when the BNI invited her for questioning because she had called into a programme during the phone-in segment and called on President Kuffuor to resign for mismanaging the affairs of the state. Her invitation to the BNI was symptomatic of the oppressive nature of the Kufuor regime which some described as being worse than a military government. Dzidzo's invitation to the BNI was not exception. GCPP leader, Dan Lartey of blessed memory was also invited to the BNI simply for saying the then President Kufuor had failed as a leader of the nation and therefore there was the need for an early election. Former President Rawlings also got invited to the BNI for saying there will be a boom if the NPP continued with its dictatorial rule. Dzidzo, after her arrest, became an outspoken critic of the Kufuor government and contributed in no small way in the NDC and Prof. Mills victory at the polls in 2008. Her death spread like wild fire on social media with many NDC supporters expressing shock at her demise.
