Race For NDC Organiser: Party Loyalty Is Key - Yaw Gyan Declares

The National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress,Yaw Boateng Gyan, has said party loyalty will be a key factor in the election of next party executives to run the affairs of the party in the upcoming national congress. Aside from party loyalty, the incumbent National Organizer is also of the view that delegates will vote for a candidate they agree with, and are also satisfied with. Mr Boateng Gyan said his performance since his election in 2010 as national Organiser is there for all party delegates and insisted that they will re-elect him to continue his work as party organizer. Speaking to the paper, Wofa Gyan, who has held the position of regional organizer in Brong Ahafo and Western regions respectively said party delegates are very much aware of his dedication and loyalty to the party. He also dismissed report suggesting that he is contesting a vice chairmanship position of the party. Wofa Yaw Gyan who has been with the party since its formation noted that, NDC delegates reliance on party loyalty to explain their choice for the next national Organizer may be a key factor. The loyalty of the Deputy General Secretary Kofi Adams who has also declared his intention to contest the position of national Organizer, is a subject of discussion among core party members. Mr Adams was suspended for 90 days by the Party in 2012. The Deputy General Secretary has been rebuked by a number of core NDC members. His suspension was based on alleged tape-recording of a conversation between Mr Adams and the Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Mr Gabby Asare Okyere-Darko discussing how to run down the NDC in the 2012 general elections. Mr Adams who doubles as an aide to former President Jerry John Rawlings denied the allegations and challenged the authenticity of the voice recording. On the said recording the deputy general secretary is alleged to have said on tape that he would do everything possible to prevent President Mills from securing the mandate of Ghanaians for a second term. The contest for the position of National Organizer promises to be a serious battle, with the Black Stars management member Yaw Gyan leading the pack. Wofa Yaw Gyan is sure of massive vote from Brong Ahafo and Western region respectively, plus the backing of the NDC power brokers, the Ahwois .He will also have incumbency advantage plus his involvement in the last two election victory of the NDC. Mr Kofi Adams will certainly be backed by former president Rawlings and as a former Central regional Youth Organizer he may have some considerable support from the region plus vote from his home region which is the Volta region.
