Nana Konadu Is An Opposition Member; Ignore Her � Sam George

A member of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team says claims by former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings that �thievery still persists� the NDC must be treated with the contempt it deserves. According to Samuel George, the former first lady as leader of the National Democratic Party (NDP) will say anything to paint the Mahama-led administration black. �Nana Konadu is not a member of the NDC; she is an opposition member and wants the position of President Mahama so she will say anything to make him look bad�. Mrs. Rawlings in response to claims that she is returning to the governing party said corruption still persist in the party. In an interview with Adom FM, Nana Konadu said the �conditions for which I left the NDC are still rife. Corruption in the party, disrespect and even the unbridled thievery in the party accounted for my exit. Intolerance and untruthfulness on the part of the party leadership played a key role in my exit�. After the comment, member of the NDC have taken the wife of the party founder to the cleaners with many questioning her credibility. In support, Sam George on Asempa FM�s Ekosii Sen programme said the former first lady has no moral right to brand the NDC corrupt. �He who call for equity must come with clean hands so Ghanaians must subject what Nana Konadu said to moral test� he stated. The NDC Youth Activist noted that in spite of the machinations by the opposition parties, government is still focus on fulfilling its Better Ghana Agenda promise to Ghanaians. He maintained that the bread and butter issues confronting Ghanaians is of much importance to President Mahama than anything. Sam George said the NDC will treat the former first lady as an opposition and deal with her accordingly.
