An appeal has been placed before all six aspirants, who are looking forward to be elected as presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, to humbly swallow their pride and allow Nana Akufo Addo to contest unopposed. Nana Akufo Addo recently had an interaction with the party�s national executives at Ashanti Region and Mr. Antwi Boasiako also known as Chairman �Wontumi�, seized the opportunity to inform the other aspirants to withdraw their services. In an exclusive interview with Peacefmonline.com, Mr. Antwi Boasiako chronicled the party�s history to buttress his assertion. "In 1992,the late Professor Adu Boahen enjoyed his time and in 1996 when former President Kufour emerged as the people�s choice, Nana Addo put everything behind him and supported him. Now is his time, so I would kindly call on the others to support him instead of attempting to battle it out with him. Nana Addo must be left to go unopposed so that the party can return to power in 2016�, he urged. Seven persons have filed nominations to contest for the flagbearer slot of the party ahead of the general elections in 2016. They are Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Francis Addai Nimoh, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Osei Ameyaw, and Joe Ghartey. The race for the party's flagbearer is set to draw along familiar lines, tilting in favour of Nana Akufo Addo, two-time winner of the contest� and it is on this note that Mr. Antwi Boasiko also known as Chairman �Wontumi� is calling on the other aspirants to hurriedly abandon their intentions. According to him, he has been on the ground working and has had an encounter with several people willing to work with only Nan Akufo Addo as their flagbearer. �Before I became Chairman for the Ashanti Region, I was out running my campaign. I was surprised to hear people informing me that they would only vote for me if I promise them I would also work for Nana Addo to lead the party in 2016. I had no option than to surrender to their request. I can confidently tell you that all the people want is Nana Addo and we must as a party, work for him to get to the top�.
