Kwabena Agyapong Bribed By NDC; N/R Chair Alleges

The General Secretary of Ghanas biggest opposition party has been bribed by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has alleged. Bugri Naabu made the allegation against Kwabena Agyapong following the latters alleged unilateral appointment of some communication personnel for the NPP last week. Apart from the new appointments, Agyapong, in a letter, also asked the partys acting Communications Director, Perry Okudzeto to proceed on his accumulated leave. Prominent leaders of the party, including first vice-chairman Freddie Blay, Council member Dr Kwame Amoako-Tuffuor, and a raft of others, have criticised the former presidential aspirant for sidelining them in the appointment process. An equally aggrieved Naabu told Abdul Karim Naatogma, the northern regional correspondent of private FM station, Citi, that Agyapong has gone to take money from the NDC to create trouble in the NPP. He said the NPP will not allow Agyapong to do as he pleases in the party.
