Perry Okudzeto Not Sacked - Paul Afoko

We indicated in the letter that he will come backIf we wanted to sack him, we would have indicated that in the letterhe is going to be reassigned. He is going to be given new assignment within the communication network according to the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko. This comment was in reaction to the brouhaha surrounding the proceed-on-leave letter handed to acting Communications Director of the NPP, Perry Okudjeto. In a letter signed by the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyepong, Perry was to start his leave on August 18, 2014. However, this decision was not welcomed by majority of the party executives as well as its members as they claim the duo (Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong) did not inform or consult the steering committee; per the partys constitution. They have therefore been accused of running a unilateral administration. But speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, Tuesday, Paul Afoko said the decision for Perry to proceed on leave was an administrative one hence the steering committee was not involved. "We didnt decide with the steering committee because it was purely an administrative matter. From my simple knowledge, when you ask somebody to go on leave it is not for the steering committee to decide. It is a management matter" According to Mr Afoko, he didnt take unilateral decision and that Kwabena Agyepong, the General Secretary informed the rest of the executives before the proceed-on-leave letter was given to Perry. It is an administrative decision and an internal party matter however this has turned into an altercation. Why? What is wrong with this party? You are going to make an administrative decision for somebody to go on holiday and somebody must take part in deciding? How?
