I've Absolute Powers To Appoint...We Are All Not The Same; There's A Chain Of Command In NPP K Agyapong

General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has called for a cease fire following the near-chaos at the partys national headquarters. He prefers prudent measures are put in place in line with the partys structure against past activities which were unconstitutional. The NPP General Secretary says he cannot fathom the rationale behind the series of allegations and attacks on the leadership of the party especially the National Chairman and himself (General Secretary) since their activities are in consonance with the partys constitution. Speaking on Peace FMs Kokrokoo programme, Kwabena Agyapong debunked the assertion that his actions in the NPP as General Secretary has been a one man show. He maintained that he has absolute power to appoint Deputy Communication Directors for the party without consultation with the National Executive Committee as it is blueprinted in the partys constitution. He stressed that it is stipulated in the partys constitution to follow a chain of command in the partys leadership in as much as there is a provision in the constitution that group some of the leaders under the Steering Committee. I want to put on record that we are not the same in the partys leadership because the partys constitution states that the Nasara Coordinator, Womens Organizer and the Youth Organizer report to the National Organizer and the National Organizer reports to me (General Secretary) and I report to the National Chairman; the National Chairman chairs our meetings. We must respect ourselves in the party; it is important to respect ourselves but we are all not the same in the partys hierarchy, he clarified.
