Thursday�s sitting of the Commission of enquiry set up to investigate the Black Stars poor performance at the 2014 world cup, turned emotional when former Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah broke down in tears.
Afriyie-Ankrah was speaking to several issues including the allegation that his wife offered catering services for the supporters who went to Brazil and that he was seen lavishing money on women during the tournament.
An emotional Afriyie-Ankrah, appearing before the commission for the second day, dared anyone to come forth with evidence showing that he spent money on women or engaged in any form of corruption and misappropriation.
The Chairman of the Commission, Justice Senyo Dzamefe then asked Afriyie-Ankrah, now a Minister of State at the presidency, how he felt when the Black Stars refused to train two days before their encounter with Portugal.
With tears dripping down his faces, Afriyie-Ankrah said he was devastated to find out the players didn�t train for two sessions ahead of the final group game against Portugal. �My Lord, I felt devastated�� then he reached for a handkerchief to wipe his tears.
He continued answering questions from the commission after he was given some time to calm down.
In a previous sitting on Wednesday, the former Sports Minister disclosed to the Commission that unlike the 2010 World Cup when Government ferried over 3,000 supporters to South Africa to watch the World Cup, Government, through the Ministry�s efforts, could only send 612 supporters to the Brazil 2014 world cup, although he admitted that the Ministry had to also cater for some 84 supporters who found their way into the Ghana supporters camp in Natal.
