Former Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac, is set to make a return to the country, barely four years after leaving the country at the peak of the euphoria over Ghana�s successful 2010 World Cup campaign. Rajevac, affectionately called Milo, has been yearning for a return for an encore in the hot seat which propelled him to global prominence after he led the Black Stars to the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the grand final of the Nations Cup in Angola months earlier. The 60-year-old Serbian, who rejected an offer to extend his stay in Ghana after the 2010 World Cup, is favourite to return as technical advisor to Stars coach Kwasi Appiah, who was Rajevac�s assistant during his two-year stint in Ghana. The Serbian and 10 other coaches applied to be considered as the technical advisor for Appiah, who has agreed to the engagement of another tactician to strengthen the Stars� technical bench. The three-member committee chaired by Mr. Fred Crentsil, vice chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), with Fred Pappoe and Francis Oti Akenten tasked with the responsibility of hunting for the technical advisor, told the Executive Committee of the GFA last Wednesday that four European coaches had been shortlisted for the job. Interestingly, the only Ghanaian among the 11 applicants, 82-year-old Ben Koufie, was rejected on account of his age. According to Fred Pappoe, a member of the committee, all four applicants shortlisted were European coaches.
