Anarfi-Mensah Eyes NDC Regional Scribe Slot

Mr. Peter Anarfi-Mensah, headmaster of Tepa Senior High School in the Ashanti region has declared his intention to contest for the Ashanti Regional position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming regional Congress. He claims he is a resourceful and proactive person who is capable of performing excellently in any capacity. Mr. Anarfi-Mensah told The Chronicle that with his strong academic background and experience in teaching and politics, I still have energy, expertise, knowledge, maturity and experience to perform in any leadership capacity. According to him, he is very conversant and abreast with the current political demands, having spent all his political life within the rank and file of the NDC. The NDC wrestled the Ahafo Ano North parliamentary seat from the NPP in the last elections through his instrumentality and campaign tactics. Mr. Anarfi-Mensah, 58, is a professional teacher with over 30 years experience, who started his political career in 1984, during the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) era, with his appointment as the District Organizing Assistant for CDRs in the then Ahafo Ano district. In 1988 he was appointed the first PNDC District Secretary for the Ahafo Ano South district till 1992 when he went to further his education at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, where he obtained his first and second degrees. In 1994, Mr. Anarfo-Mensah took up appointment with the National Commission for Civic Education, as the District Director at the Offinso District Assembly. He was appointed as the then Amansie East District Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in 1998, before he assumed office to briefly serve as the District Chief Executive for the Ahafo Ano North district from 2000 to 2001. After leaving office in 2001as DCE, he was appointed the Deputy Regional Director of NADMO. He was adjudged the Ashanti Regional Best Teacher in the Secondary school category in 2004 and has since 2006 been a headmaster in the SHS, having risen from a teacher to Assistant headmaster. Currently he is the headmaster of Tepa SHS, a position he has been holding since 2010, where tremendous transformation has occurred as a result of his leadership style. The Tepa SHS was adjudged the first SHS in WAEC in 2013. Anarfi-Mensah also in 2011 obtained an Executive Certificate in Strategic Management in Administration from the Graduate School of Governance and Leadership. By dint of this qualification, he was promoted to the position of Chief Director by the Head of Civil Servants and Public Services Commission. His administrative skills and articulation earned him the position of Public Relations officer and spokesman of the Ashanti Regional Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) for the past four years. A die hard member of the NDC, Anarfi-Mensah is one of the few PNDC operatives who has maintained links with the NDC since it was formed in 1992 and has been contributing both in cash and in kind to the party in the Ahafo Ano North and the Atwima Kwamwoma constituencies in Ashanti. The aspiring regional scribe claims he has brought tremendous transformations at the various workplaces he served, making him an achiever and a transformational leader, and wish to extend his experience to the regional secretariat of the party.
